Position:
We are a growing custom cabinet shop in Fort Mill, SC, seeking a detail-oriented and experienced AutoCAD Drafter/Designer to support our design and production team. This position plays a critical role in turning client concepts into precise shop-ready drawings that drive efficient fabrication and high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings for custom cabinetry, built-ins, and millwork. Prepare shop drawings with accurate dimensions, materials, hardware placement, and construction details. Collaborate with designers, project managers, and fabricators to ensure accuracy and feasibility. Revise and update plans based on client or contractor feedback. Assist in generating cut lists and materials data to support production. Maintain drawing standards and file organization for ongoing projects.
Qualifications:
Proficient in AutoCAD (2D required; 3D a plus). Experience with custom cabinet design or related woodworking/construction drafting. Strong understanding of cabinet construction techniques, materials, and hardware. Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and field measurements. Excellent attention to detail and time management. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills (Not Required): Experience with CNC integration or CAM software. Familiarity with other drafting/design tools (e.g., SketchUp, Cabinet Vision, or Revit). Knowledge of local building codes or ADA cabinetry guidelines.
