Talascend is currently seeking a Operator for a contract opportunity located in Birmingham, AL. We are currently hiring an Operator responsible for supporting daily operations in a chemical manufacturing environment. This position involves hands-on work with process equipment, solution preparation, and adherence to strict safety and quality standards.

Principal Accountabilities:

Demonstrate personal proficiency with proper handling techniques in a controlled chemical environment
Execute development, engineering, or production batch records accurately with supervision
Perform complex, multi-step solution preparations under supervision
Assemble and disassemble process equipment across multiple unit operations
Operate PLC-controlled equipment and make adjustments per batch instructions
Use basic hand tools for equipment setup and operation
Follow all safety procedures, including use of appropriate PPE
Maintain clean and organized work areas and participate in general housekeeping
Identify and support improvements in equipment maintenance, calibration, and procedures
Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, health, and environmental standards
Conduct all operations in accordance with proper chemical handling and hazard identification procedures (using MSDS)

Requirements:

0-2 years of relevant chemical manufacturing or industrial operations experience
Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with control/data logging systems
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Ability to follow detailed written instructions accurately
Understanding of general lab equipment and process systems
