About the Job Under the direction of the EI Team Leader manufactures products for use by customers by performing the following functions: (1) operates the computer controlled Limestone Milling systems and related equipment; (2) maintains product quality by performing various lab tests including XRF analysis, moisture testing, and sizing ; (3) assist in loading product for customer shipment as needed; (4) operate Loader to load trucks of Limestone and feed stone to the process as needed. Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures. Attend safety training meetings as scheduled. Ensures high standards of housekeeping in all plant areas. Assures that product meets quality standards by controlling processes and by performing required quality tests and utilizing SPC and TQM techniques obtained through on-going training. Obtain samples as needed. Maintains equipment through preventive maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and repair work. Assists in maintenance and projects, equipment repair/troubleshooting, etc. as required. Initiates maintenance as required. Maintains raw materials and supplies inventory. Coordinate receipt and ordering of raw materials, including originating Purchase Order requests to replenish depleted inventories. Prepares and maintains BOLs and other shipping records as directed. Writes and adheres to all process procedures and work instructions and keeps all procedures and instructions updated. Through training, develop a working knowledge of the computer control system to allow interface with IS and or Process Engineering personnel to facilitate remote changes, updates and troubleshooting of computer problems. Monitors operation of Dust Control equipment. Maintain records of spillage, waste hauling or other unusual events. Maintains production and quality records in computerized systems. Maintains daily operator logs. Performs other duties as required.
Required Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required, Technical Associate’s Degree preferred.
Experience:
5+ years working in an industrial environment required.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance desired. Welding and metal fabrication skills are required.
Skills:
Proficiency in Excel and Word processing a plus; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook. Candidate must have good writing and communication skills.
Abilities:
Rigging, Millwright skills, and ability to operate a 5-yard bucket loader is a plus. Ability to climb stairs & ladders without fear of heights. Operate Telehandler, Front End Loader, and forklift as required.
Behaviors:
Must be comfortable interacting with customers, vendors and contractors. Must be self-motivated and have initiative to work as an empowered team with on-site employees in order to operate a safe and efficient plant, maximize production, and reduce costs.
Schedule:
Work overtime as needed and respond to call-ins to work when the plant requires. Must be willing to work rotating shifts, overtime, and holidays.
Travel:
May occasionally be required to travel to other corporate locations for training and operational assistance.
