$20•27/hr Position Summary
We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Production Paint Technician to join our industrial painting operations on 2nd shift In this role, you’ll operate both manual and automatic painting equipment to apply final finishes on components according to precise specifications. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our high-quality standards are met through every step of the finishing process.
Key Responsibilities
Operate hand-painting booths and automated paint lines
Set up painting equipment, mix coatings to desired color and texture, and prepare components for finishing
Inspect in-process work for paint thickness, finish quality, and documentation accuracy
Perform paint prep including degreasing, rust removal, masking, and filler application
Strip and rework improperly finished components when needed
Clean and maintain sprayers, brushes, and related equipment using solvents
Apply wax coating post-testing as required
Monitor chemical bath concentrations to ensure proper operation
Track and maintain paint and consumable inventory levels
Follow all safety and hazardous waste handling protocols
Maintain a clean, organized work area and support continuous improvement efforts
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
2+ years of manufacturing experience or equivalent skills in a paint line or similar industrial setting
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job specs, and verbal instructions
Comfortable using basic math and job-specific software (e.g., production tracking systems)
Knowledge of paint application, surface prep, and finishing techniques
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Good communication skills and willingness to provide input for process improvements
Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement is a plus
Prior leadership or team lead experience is a strong advantage for top-end pay consideration
