Fuji Vegetable Oil, Inc. is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic team player to join our Distribution Team as a Distribution Tech in our Savannah, GA Plant. Our pay range for Distribution Tech I is is $23.00hr•$25.00/hr. based on experience. This is a Swing Shift position. You will work 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next.

The Distribution Technician performs tasks associated with the receipt, handling, bulk loading and shipping of vegetable oil and related ingredients; inventory control of production supplies and other materials; will assist in and clean processing and plant areas with a primary focus on the outdoor tank farm area; and will perform general labor tasks. The Distribution Technician may be required to work various schedules with or without prior notice including weekends, nights, holidays, or other times they are needed. The Distribution Operator may be required to work overtime with or without prior notice.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reads work orders, shipping orders and follows oral instructions to determine materials to be moved or shipments to be loaded properly then performs the related tasks to complete the orders. Load, unload, and wash trucks, railcars, tank containers, and other bulk methods of transporting oil. Removes samples of materials and oils, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to laboratory for analysis. Loads materials and or oils into vehicles and installs seals, strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Counts, weighs, verifies, and records units of supplies and raw materials received, movements and shipments; accurately completes appropriate paperwork. Sample and measure inventory; check temperatures of tanks. Receives and stores chemicals, ingredients, and miscellaneous supplies. Contain and clean oil in the event of a spill. Assist in preparing the plant equipment for startup, shutdown, freeze plans, and hazardous weather conditions. Make simple repairs and maintain equipment as needed. Drive a fork lift truck to move drums and other production items.

EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ACTIVE CDL LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate on a radio.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to distinguish between hot and cold to verify if the process line heat tracing is working. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk, including on cat walks or ladders approximately 60 feet above the ground; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear on the radio and telephone. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds however, accommodations may made. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to read a computer screen including color coded indicators, pressure gauges, temperature and level gauges, gas and product flow indicators, and other measuring equipment. The employee is occasionally required to work in confined spaces and must be able to pass a respiratory clearance test.
