Production Technician I (3 Nights/Wk) Tanbark Molded Fiber Products 34 Spring Hill Road, Saco, ME 04072 About Tanbark Tanbark is a Maine-based manufacturer dedicated to eco-friendly, molded fiber packaging that replaces plastic. Position Summary The Production Technician I is a key member of the production team, responsible for executing a variety of tasks across the manufacturing floor to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations. This position involves operating equipment, preparing materials, inspecting products, and supporting all stages of the production process. Ideal candidates have manufacturing experience, are ready to contribute right away, and are driven to continue learning and growing with the team. Work Schedule 12-hour shifts, 3 nights per week
Worknights:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday Night Shift:
7pm-7am Training on day shift is required during the first 2-5 weeks. Starting Pay Rate $22/hour + 10% Shift Differential ($24.20/hour) Duties & Responsibilities Operate and monitor production equipment in accordance with safety, quality, and productivity standards Support daily production activities across multiple workstations, including batching, molding, trimming, and packing Set up, adjust, and clean machinery and tools as needed to support product changeovers and maintain workflow Handle raw materials including cutting dry lap, weighing, batching, staging, and transporting with pallet jack or forklift Operate die-cutting machines to trim and pack products for shipment. Inspect in-process and finished products for quality, reporting any defects or irregularities to shift leadership Maintain accurate production records and communicate clearly with team leads and technicians Perform die cutting, packing, and palletizing finished products Clean equipment, tanks, and work areas regularly to uphold safety and sanitation requirements Follow all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe, organized production floor Collaborate with team members and shift leadership to ensure production goals are met Perform other work-related duties as assigned Core Values & Competencies At Tanbark, we don’t just create sustainable products—we create a culture of innovation and responsibility. Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High school diploma or equivalent required Fluent English; strong verbal and written communication skills Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment Comfortable working with mechanical equipment and production systems Ability to interpret basic work instructions, perform manual tasks efficiently, and adapt to changing priorities Basic math and measuring skills Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team Pallet jack and forklift experience a plus Physical Demands and Work Environment This role requires frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, and manual handling of materials up to 50 pounds. The production environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, pulp dust, chemicals, and moderate noise. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
