Your JobGeorgia Pacific is hiring a Pulp Mill Operating Technician for our New Augusta/Leaf River facility. This position creates value by safely operating process equipment machinery to meet or exceed the mill’s production and quality goals. They will also be required to attend and complete mandatory and ongoing trainings, as well as participate on the Fire & Rescue team. This position will typically work a 12-hour rotating shift which may include weekends and holidays. The starting rate is $26.66 per hour but employees have the opportunity to earn up to $40.97 per hour as they progress in their roles.

What You Will DoOperating and troubleshooting the equipment within the scope of operations for the Pulp DryerProgressing through multiple skill levels in a timely manner to develop knowledge of all the operating systems in the Pulp DryerPerforming equipment cleanup and operator basic care to include minor maintenance tasksMonitoring process variables to maintain efficient Pulp Dryer operations and meet department quality, cost, and production goalsParticipates in the mill fire brigade and hazard material teamsMaintains strict adherence to safety rules & regulations to include wearing required safety equipmentWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Two years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment (includes oil field experience) OR associate degree in Process Operations or Electrical/InstrumentationExperience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel for data entry and document creationWhat Will Put You AheadTwo-year technical degree/certification in manufacturing technology or industrial manufacturingOperational experience in a Pulp or Paper MillIndustrial lift truck certificationAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
