Chemical Process Test Technician 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Whitsett, NC 27377 Machine Specialties, LLC (MSI) is a leading contract machining and metal finishing company that designs and manufactures sophisticated, cost-effective solutions to meet our clients’ most demanding challenges. Our company is located in Whitsett, NC, about 8 miles outside of Greensboro, NC. We are looking for a Chemical Process Test Technician to join our team. This is a full-time, hourly role that reports to our Chemical Engineer. In this role you will be expected to collaborate with team members, cross-train in related tasks, and provide support in minor maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on critical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Periodic Testing and Review:
Conduct routine chemical process tests to ensure compliance with established protocols.
Solution Analysis and Review:
Analyze process samples using titration methods, perform tank adjustments, and maintain meticulous records. Lot Testing /
Inspection:
Test materials, products, and goods to verify adherence to schedules while maintaining detailed records. Calibration /
Monitoring:
Continuously oversee equipment and test specimens’ quality, promptly report irregularities, operate processing equipment, and perform preventive maintenance on pumps, dust collectors, electrical motors, ventilation, and pneumatic systems.
Wastewater Treatment:
Monitor wastewater treatment processes, manage hazardous materials, and ensure strict compliance with environmental standards.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in fundamental chemistry, mathematics, and unit conversions. Knowledge of industrial manufacturing safety requirements and handling hazardous materials. Effective decision-making and communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail, safety, and quality standards. Basic computer skills for data entry. Physical capability to lift 50 pounds and ascend or descend ladders.
Desired Skills:
Experience in quality systems like AS9100 or NADCAP. Familiarity with aerospace MIL or AMS specifications. Proficiency in record-keeping and analysis in compliance with job documentation and certification/test reports. Knowledge of various chemical analyses and testing, including titrations, pH testing, salt spray testing, conductivity testing for water purity, coating weight testing, adhesion tape testing, and thickness measurements. Microscope experience (up to 40X magnification). Pre-algebra math skills for process equations. Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing work demands. Previous experience in chemical processing and metal finishing.
