Ensuring the safe and efficient product flow by adjusting machinery settings, managing chemical storage and piping while trouble shooting issues that may arise. Adhering to strict safety protocols is essential. Monitoring Equipment Observing gauges, meters, and control panels to monitor flow rates, temperatures and pressure levels. Operating Machinery Starting and stopping equipment like pumps according to established procedures. Material Testing Collect, Chemical, temperature readings periodically to establish product condition while setting heat source to increase when required or needed. (Sodium Hydroxide and/or Propane) Recording Data Document railcar data for loading and unloading for both Sodium Hydroxide and Propane operations. Troubleshooting Issues Identify and address minor equipment malfunctions or process irregularities. Safety Compliance Following strict safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials, wearing protective gear, and reporting any safety concerns. Emergency Response Knowing and following emergency procedures in case of accidents or spills. Cleaning and Maintenance Perform cleaning of barge containers as specified by customers using hot water and steam while maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance. Safety Awareness Strong commitment to following safety guidelines and procedures. Physical Ability Ability to work in a demanding industrial environment, including lifting and moving equipment and materials. Climbing standing and stooping are part of routine physical activities. This position works outside in all types of weather conditions. Job Summary The Utility Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes. This position involves a variety of tasks that support production, including materials handling, packaging, and maintaining compliance with CGMP standards. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and possess a strong commitment to safety and quality. Duties Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment to transport materials throughout the facility. Assist in the packaging of products, ensuring that all items meet quality standards. Perform machining tasks as required to fabricate components for production. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with Lean manufacturing principles. Support laboratory operations by preparing materials and conducting basic tests as needed. Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency. Adhere to all safety protocols and CGMP regulations during daily operations. Experience Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred. Familiarity with forklift operation and materials handling techniques is essential. Knowledge of CGMP practices is a plus, along with experience in machining or fabrication processes. Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts will be beneficial for process improvement initiatives. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
