Job Description
CNC Operator 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars Southbridge, MA 01550 The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery to produce parts and tools from various materials. The role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, programming CNC machines, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining equipment to ensure efficient and safe production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Set up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, and turning. Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and produce parts according to specifications. Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and maintain quality.
Programming:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files. Input and modify CNC programs to produce parts accurately and efficiently
Quality Control:
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and design specifications. Use precision measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers, to verify dimensions and tolerances. Perform regular quality checks and record inspection results.
Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines. Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues to minimize downtime. Report any major maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
Safety:
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining is preferred. Proven experience as a CNC machine operator or similar role. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files. Strong knowledge of CNC programming and G-code. Experience with precision measuring tools and equipment. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with machinery. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good communication and teamwork skills. Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery. May require lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. Shift work may be required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

$18.00 – $22.00 per hour
