Job Description
CNC Operators Needed in Lee’s Summit Job Description We are seeking a skilled and dependable CNC Lathe and Mill Operator to join our precision machining team. This role involves setting up and operating CNC lathes and milling machines to produce high-quality metal and plastic components according to engineering specifications. The position is a 2nd shift role, working from 3:15 pm to 1:45 am, Monday through Thursday. Responsibilities + Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines. + Load raw materials and monitor machining operations. + Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions. + Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. + Make machine adjustments to maintain part quality and tolerances. + Deburr and clean finished parts as needed. + Maintain accurate production and inspection records. + Perform routine machine maintenance and report issues. + Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Essential Skills +
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to interpret technical drawings and part specifications. +
Precision Measurement:
Proficient with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools. +
Machine Setup:
Knowledge of setting up CNC lathes and mills, including tool changes and offsets. +
G-Code Understanding:
Familiarity with CNC programming language and control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas). +
Mechanical Aptitude:
Strong understanding of machining principles and mechanical systems. +
Problem Solving:
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining or quality issues. + Attention to
Detail:
High level of accuracy and commitment to producing quality parts. +
Time Management:
Ability to manage workload efficiently and meet production deadlines. +
Teamwork & Communication:
Works well with others and communicates effectively with supervisors and team members. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred. + 2+ years of CNC machining experience (lathe and/or mill). + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
