Machine Shop CNC operator Position Available In Gaston, North Carolina

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Machine Shop Operator- CNC Sets up and operates CNCmachines or machining centers to perform various functions, suchas, cutting, drilling, reaming, and boring of metal products.

Operator should be able to make adjustments to machine and adjustset ups per the work instructions for each item. The Machine ShopOperator is an hourly position subject to overtime pay, and reportsto the Machine Shop Lead Person.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Read andinterpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and relatedtechnical data to determine tooling requirements Must set upmachine by following parameters identified on work instructionsMeet or exceed production standards set to produce parts Accuratelycomplete production records Control and adjust machine settings asrequired Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, andworkpieces on machine Select and install cutting tools in machineLoad and unload machine Operate machine with little supervisionMake manual adjustments to programs as required Ensure conformanceof product to blueprint specifications, using precisioninstruments. Maintain required housekeeping—including the areaaround the machine, cleaning machine, tooling, and parts

ADDITIONALRESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other duties as assigned Assist inmandatory annual physical inventory Set up peripheral equipment todo secondary operations, such as drilling May be assigned todifferent workstations as production needs require The precedingexamples are representative of assignments performed by thisposition and are not intended to be all-inclusive

PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for an eight hour time period Abilityto lift from the floor to chest-height level, up to 50 lbs Abilityto work in a non climate controlled environment
