Role Summary:
The CNC Machine Operator plays a crucial role inour production process. They are responsible for operating avariety of CNC machines, ensuring precision and efficiency inmachining operations. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Set upand operate CNC machines for 3, 4, and 5 axis machining. Performtasks such as conventional milling, drilling, fast hole drilling,and graphite shaping on metal castings, forgings, and bar stock.
Follow specifications and set-up instructions, applying expertisein machining methods. Manually lift workpieces onto the machinetable or use material handling equipment. Position and secureworkpieces accurately. Select appropriate tooling for each job. Ifrequired, place tools in the automatic tool changer in thespecified sequence from the process sheet. Record productioninspection results in the computer data system. Monitor displays onthe control panel and compare them with data from the processsheet. Verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and machiningspeeds. Utilize precision measuring tools, such as micrometers andprecision dial gauges, to ensure accuracy. Follow companyspecifications to deburr parts or components.
Education:
HighSchool Diploma or GED; or related work experience.
Skills:
Effective communication skills, verbally and written. Ability toread and comprehend blueprints. Ability to use precision measuringtools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and others. Abilityto work well within a team or independently.
