Job Description

Skilled CNC Operator

  • 2nd or 3rd Shift 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars Morristown, TN 37813 Renold is currently recruiting for a CNC Operators for 2nd & 3rd shifts. Operator should have a minimum six months experience in CNC operations, able to read and exhibit proficiency using calipers and micrometers, and be safety
  • and quality-minded.

Positions are Monday-Friday with Saturday as overtime.

Typical shift hours:

1st shift operates 7:00 AM

  • 3:30 PM 2nd shift operates 3:15 PM
  • 11:45 PM 3rd shift operates 11:30 PM
  • 8:00 AM
  • Hours may vary by department/overtime.

Off-shift operators train on 1st Shift for a minimum of 4 weeks and transition to their respective shift after successful completion of training. Shift premiums also apply for 2nd and 3rd shift positions ($0.75/hr)

General Requirements:

HS Diploma or GED Six months experience required 1

  • 3 years CNC operation preferred Appropriate CNC knowledge of tooling Machining experience preferred Applicant should be comfortable making slight program adjustments Applicant should knowledgeable of how to read CNC programs Applicant should be comfortable reading measurement tools, such as callipers, micrometers, and gauges Applicant should be comfortable in reading blue prints and work orders Applicant should have strong mathematical ability
Function & Scope of Responsibility :

Attends the job during the scheduled work hours. Follows all departmental and company safety rules / procedures. Receives instructions, material requirements, prints, routings, and work orders for the job. Review set-up sheet and select proper tooling & materials needed for the job. Able to perform minor program changes, tool offsets, make tooling changes, and load material. Performs routine maintenance. Performs first part inspection using callipers, micrometers, gages, and other measuring instruments to assure dimensions are correct and within drawing specifications. Operates multiple machines by performing the duties mentioned above to run successive pieces to the specified order quantity requirements. Performs periodic part inspection per job instructions. Completes appropriate paperwork. Moves material to next operation and stages as required, using material handling equipment-i.e. fork lift. Reports progress / status to supervisor or lead person. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the supervisor.
