Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for programming, setup, and operation of Rollomatic CNC grinding centers using VG and VG Pro (Virtual Grind/Virtual Grind Pro) software.

Essential Functions:

The following functions are representative of the tasks performed within this role. These tasks may vary depending on the position and management discretion. The absence of a particular function does not exclude additional duties being assigned if they are relevant to the role. Interpret drawings and/or solid part models to write programs for Rollomatic machines. Program using VG/VG Pro software. Troubleshoot programming issues. Create setup sheets based on tooling selection criteria. Monitor and verify the accuracy of initial setups and final outcomes for each job. Revise programs and documents to reflect engineering changes. Maintain an organized library of programs. Identify and analyze opportunities for process improvements. Apply efficient production methods for both complex and simple parts. Communicate with the department manager about current and upcoming job statuses. Provide shop floor support for inspection methods, training, machine alarms, and program troubleshooting. Assist the tool room with prints and designs for workholding fixtures. Ensure smooth transition of products to the next operation.

Qualifications:

Minimum of five years’ experience programming and operating manual or CNC machines in a manufacturing setting, or a combination of education, certification, training, and experience. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Knowledge of various grinding wheels and steady rests. Familiarity with CNC lathe and/or mill controls, with experience on multi-axis machine centers a plus. Proficient with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and indicators. Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Knowledge of ISO 13485 and

FDA 21 CFR

820, with on-the-job training provided. Basic math skills, including arithmetic, geometry, and algebra for material fabrication calculations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CAD/CAM software. Ability to read and interpret drawings with geometric dimensions and tolerances. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
