Job Description

CNC Programmer Cutting Edge Laser Machining, Inc. Covington, GA 30014 Summary As a CAD/CAM Programmer, you will be integral to the manufacturing process, utilizing your expertise in blueprint reading, CNC programming, and fabrication to create precise designs and specifications. Reporting to the VP of Production, your role will focus on optimizing production efficiency through advanced software tools like AutoCAD and Alibre. Join us in driving innovation and excellence in our manufacturing operations. Analyzes and interprets customer drawings and design specifications to understand the required dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes to produce desired shapes and details on materials. Creates and implements CNC programs and sheet layouts utilizing CAD/CAM software, translating design specifications into laser cutting instructions. Selects cut conditions to ensure laser power, speed, focus, and other parameters to achieve desired cut quality and efficiency. Periodically observes programs on the laser and modifies programs to improve accuracy, efficiency, and safety. Identifies and resolves issues related to the laser or program to ensure smooth and efficient production. Works with engineers and production to develop and improve manufacturing processes, ensuring the final product meets specifications. Maintains detailed records of programs and machine settings. Other Skills and Abilities Strong understanding of CNC programming, laser cutting principles, G-code, and CAD/CAM software. (CNC Lasers, Press Brakes, Turret Punch Presses & Milling Machines). Ability to analyze blueprints, design specifications, and production requirements to develop efficient and accurate programs. Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify and resolve errors, and implement adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency. Effectively communicate with engineers, management, and other members of the manufacturing team. Knowledge of various metals and their cutting characteristics.

Shift Flexible Schedule:

Monday – Friday. 6a-3p OR 7a-4p. Additional hours may be required based on workload and customer deadlines.
