Description Responsibilities of the CNC Manufacturing EngineerDevelop, optimize, and validate multi-axis CNC machining processesfor intricate components. Program CNC machines primarily using OpenMind hyperMILL; experience with Fusion 360, ESPRIT, or Siemens NXis beneficial. Design and build custom workholding and fixturingsolutions, including setups for machining and CMM inspection.
Perform first article validations, confirm setups, and refineprograms to enhance efficiency and consistency. Implementlights-out machining techniques to increase automation and extendunattended operation. Apply advanced probing methods to preciselyalign complex parts such as additive-manufactured pieces, castings,and forgings. Analyze CMM inspection data to detect risks andadjust machining approaches to maintain tight tolerances. Workclosely with quality teams to resolve machining and inspectionissues. Develop comprehensive setup documentation in ProShop ERP toensure consistent production. Mentor junior programmers and machineoperators as needed. Lead continuous improvement efforts tooptimize tooling, processes, and reduce cycle times.
Profile IdealCNC Manufacturing Engineer Candidate:
Over 6 years of CNCprogramming expertise, specializing in multi-axis milling andmill-turn operations. Proficient in Open Mind hyperMILL; knowledgeof Fusion 360, ESPRIT, or Siemens NX is a plus. Solid grasp of
GD&T, CNC
tooling, and precision machining techniques. Skilledin developing lights-out machining and automation processes.
Practical experience designing and fabricating custom fixtures.
Experienced with advanced probing for part alignment andinterpreting CMM inspection data. Strong troubleshooting abilitiesfocused on machine performance, part accuracy, and processimprovements. Knowledgeable of aerospace manufacturing standardsand best practices. Familiar with machining high-performancematerials like titanium, Inconel, and other nickel alloys.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on delivering results.
