2 CNC Machinist Positions Available

  • Plymouth, MA 1
  • CNC Machinist
  • 1st Shift (7AM-3:30PM)
  • 3+ years of set-up experience required 2
  • CNC Machinist
  • 2nd Shift (3:15PM-1:45AM) 15% Night Differential
  • _•3+years of set-up experience required_ SUMMARY Monitor and control thequality of machining processes using process control tools such ascontrol charts and statistical capability information.

Participate incontinuous improvement activities that result in standardization andwaste reduction in the manufacturing process. Maintain the productionprocesses and the expected efficiencies established for the productline. Perform new product setups and troubleshoot problems that arise onthe machine.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Read part prints/OCP?s and jobrouters for all product specifications. i.e.: dimensions, tolerances,inspection, number of parts to be machined and Tooling Instruction Sheet(TIS). Use machine controls to cycle machine through productionoperations, adjusting tool positions, and tool changes. Also reviewmachine operating criteria such as cycle time, speeds and feeds. Inspectproduct using Inspection equipment according to the operation controlplan/print. Perform new product inspection, including the inspection ofcomplex GD&T features. Ensure proper lubrication and cooling onworkpieces. Maintain work area according to TPM and 5S. Participate incontinuous improvement activities, such as Area Improvement Team (AIT).Understand CNC programming, machine tooling, and different work holdingtechniques. Assist CNC programmers with new product in-loads. Providetooling and fixture ideas to the engineer and programmer. Proposeprocess improvements that reduce cycle time and increase productquality. Troubleshoot and rectify problems on a CNC machine with minimalassistance from the programmer or engineer.

SPECIFICATIONS

(SKILLS

ANDABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE

) Strong communication skills. Ability to work in ateam environment. The individual must be capable of frequently liftingand/or moving items ranging from 10-50 pounds. Train lower levelmachinists and assist them when technical problems arise. Possess strongleadership skills and work closely with management to identify problemswith material, scheduling, routers, and other various productionactivities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Strong CNC troubleshooting skills inaddition to basic machining principles. Have the experience to quicklyrectify a problem on a CNC machine. Ability to perform new productset-ups from start to finish with minimal support from the programmerand engineer. Must be able to provide solid feedback to the programmerthrough the prove-out process including ideas for improvement and waysto make the process faster and more efficient. Possess the technicalcompetency to read and interpret advanced technical documentation. Forexample; this individual must be able to understand GD&T including,bonus tolerances, true positions, datum structures and planes. Provenmechanical aptitude. (Proven through documented experience or testing.)Reading and Math skills for interpretation of technical documents usedin the manufacturing process.
