We are seeking an experienced CNCMachinist / CNC Milling Process Technician to join our precisionmetals CNC shop. This role requires expertise in CNC horizontal andvertical milling operations, including blueprint interpretation,tooling and fixturing selection, cycle time estimation, and theprogramming/setup of new parts. The ideal candidate will have astrong technical background, attention to detail, and aproblem-solving mindset to ensure high-quality production.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Quote, program, and set up new parts andprocesses in CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines.
- Readand interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technicalspecifications to ensure accurate machining.
- Accurately determinecycle times, fixturing, and tooling requirements based on printspecifications.
- Work with vendors to source tooling and optimizemachining processes.
- Layout and set up CNC machines for efficientoperation.
- Program CNC machines using CAM software and manuallyedit G-code as needed.
- Perform first-piece inspections and adjustsetups to ensure precision and quality standards.
- Inspect partsthroughout the machining process, from setup through first-pieceapproval.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize processesfor efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized workarea, following all safety and quality procedures.
- Collaboratewith engineering and production teams to improve machiningprocesses and workflow.
- Document setup instructions and bestpractices for repeatability and process improvement.
Qualifications& Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of CNC horizontal/verticalmilling experience in a precision machining environment.
- Strongability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and machiningspecifications.
- Experience quoting new parts, programming, anddetermining cycle times, tooling, and fixturing requirements.
- Ability to work with vendors to procure tooling and improvemachining efficiency.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and setup ofnew parts.
- Familiarity with CAM software and G-code editing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability towork independently and as part of a team in a fast-pacedenvironment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multi-axis machining.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and processoptimization.
- Prior experience working in an ISO-certifiedenvironment.
