Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a CNC Instructor with experience in CNC machining, programming, and operations to provide hands-on training in a shop environment that aligns with National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Level 1, 2, and 3 standards for CNC Mill and CNC Lathe. This role requires experience operating and programming Haas and Mazak CNC machines, along with the ability to teach CAD and CAM software for CNC programming.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver hands-on CNC training in a dedicated Mini Mill training area Teach students to operate, program, and troubleshoot Haas and Mazak CNC machines in a real-world machining environment. Ensure that training aligns with NIMS Level 1, 2, and 3 standards for CNC Mill and CNC Lathe. Instruct students in G-code and M-code programming, an minimal Maztrol. Teach CAD and CAM software (such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, etc.) for CNC programming and toolpath creation. Train students in blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation, and precision measurement techniques using hands-on applications. Conduct practical performance assessments and real-world machining exercises to reinforce learning. Maintain a safe and organized shop environment by enforcing industry-standard safety protocols. Troubleshoot and maintain Haas and Mazak CNC equipment as needed. Continuously update training methods and curriculum to reflect industry advancements in CNC machining, CAD, and CAM software.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in CNC machining, programming, and operations. Proficiency in Haas and Mazak CNC machines, including programming and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of NIMS Level 1, 2, and 3 standards and how to align training with them. Ability to teach G-code, M-code, and CNC control systems. Expertise in CAD and CAM software (such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, etc.). Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measurement techniques. Strong communication and mentorship abilities.
Work Environment:
Hands-on shop environment—no classroom instruction. Dedicated Mini Mill training area for practical, real-world CNC training. Working directly with Haas and Mazak CNC machines in a machine shop setting. ~6-8 CNC Trainees
