CNC Lathe/Mill Operator/Programmer (2nd Shift) 4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 2811 John Deere Drive, Knoxville, TN 37917 Summit is looking for a person to work 2nd shift and operate CNC lathes and/or mills. Responsibilities for Machine Operator Read technical drawings and assist in set up the machines in accordance with blueprints Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications Adjust machine offsets to insure product is meeting customer’s requirements Record production output and issues on a shift basis Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise, training and support will be provided Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and adding lubricants Qualifications for Machine Operator Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting To have operated Vertical Mills and Lathes Must have strong attention to detail Must have used calipers, micrometers or other inspection instruments Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential Should have a positive and professional attitude Available to work overtime Capable of standing for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for short periods of time Preferred skills To have operated Vertical Mills and Lathes Worked with robot operated equipment Summit Machine Works is a small manufacturer and machine shop that serves the automobile industry, marine industry, gun industry and many others.
