Responsibilities:

Applies protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment, and other structures. Washes, scrapes, sands, torches, and/or smooth interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering or applying other related materials. Cleans equipment, paint mixing area, and work area. Operates compressors, striping machines, sandblasters, spray equipment, and other small power equipment. Erects various types of scaffolding, staging, ladders, and planks to reach surfaces of work area for Painters and others. Applies paints, stains, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, as appropriate, and according to Materials Safety Data Sheets ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines. Determines appropriate color for new or replacement applications through consultation with customer. Maintains existing paint surfaces through matching and tinting of appropriate paint products. Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials. Qualifications 2+ years commercial or industrial painting experience OSHA 10hr cert a plus Excellent knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix, and apply them. Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques. Aptitude in using appropriate tools, such as brushes and caulking guns

Additional Requirements:

Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to; hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Working Conditions Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
