Position Summary:
The Aircraft Parts Painter is responsible for preparing, priming, and painting a variety of aircraft components in accordance with FAA, military, and OEM specifications. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of coating systems, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean, mask, and prepare aircraft parts for painting Apply primers, topcoats, and specialty finishes using HVLP spray guns and other equipment Mix and match paint per technical data sheets and customer requirements Inspect painted surfaces for quality, uniformity, and defects Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA standards Complete all required documentation and records related to paint processes Communicate with quality control and production teams to ensure compliance and accuracy
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required 2+ years of experience painting aircraft or automotive parts or similar precision components Familiarity with Mil-Spec, FAA, or OEM paint procedures Proficient with HVLP spray equipment and surface preparation techniques Ability to read and interpret work instructions, paint specs, and technical data Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
Preferred Experience:
Experience in an FAA Part 145 repair station or DoD facility Knowledge of chemical stripping and corrosion control methods Certification in industrial or aerospace painting a plus
