Full Job Description Position:
Operate spray painting and sandblasting equipment to apply protective coatings and paints to fabricated components. Assist with general shop duties, including material handling, shipping/receiving, operating forklift and/or other machinery as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Comprehend finish specifications outlined on prints and standards. Select the appropriate coatings according to determined specs. Follow manufacturer’s specifications for application of coatings. Comprehend and perform surface preparation on fabricated components. Operate equipment to clean, strip, grind and sand to prep for painting. Operate spray equipment or other methods of painting as required. Effectively and efficiently apply coats within time allowance. Clean and maintain paint equipment, spray booth, compressed air equipment and personal protective equipment. Maintain a clean working environment. Follow all safety protocols, including wearing proper PPE and handling hazardous materials properly. Ability to use hand & power tools effectively and safely. Strong attention to detail and quality control. Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn and adapt to different tasks in a shop environment. Other duties/tasks as assigned.
