PositionPurpose:
The Senior Aircraft Painter works independently to safelyprepare, paint and detail aircraft according to schedule usingcompany quality standards and operating procedures. Act on behalfof the Lead in their absence and provide assistance and workdirection to other painters.
Job DescriptionPrinciple Duties andResponsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Safely perform aircraft preparation, painting, and detailing ofaircraft under minimal supervision. Coordinate with supervision andInspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork,sign-offs and quality specifications. Assist supervision with assignment and accomplishment of workfor assigned team members. Promote high standards of qualitythrough instruction and by setting a good example for otherpainters to follow. Act on behalf of supervision as required. Follow standard operating procedures when using tools andequipment such as dual action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms andpaint sprayers. Properly care for and maintain shop equipment andtools. Follow standard operating procedures when using sealants, paintstrippers and corrosion-preventive chemicals and use protectiveequipment as required. Comply with safety rules and procedures and be alert for unsafeconditions. Address unsafe conditions before putting people orproperty at risk. Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, tracksquawks and to sign-off work. Assist with aircraft movement in hangars.
AdditionalFunctions:
Comply with Paint shop standard practices (SPT) process and WFRprocesses. . Mentor other members of Paint operations as required. . Offer continuous improvement ideas/participate in continuousimprovement activities. .Perform other duties as assigned.
OtherRequirements:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the Englishlanguage. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineeringdocumentation. Able to pass Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respiratorcertification. Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restrictedareas, lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift. Must be computer literate. Thorough and complete understanding of the GAMPS, paintoperations SPT manual and paint WFR. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the Englishlanguage.
