Body Shop Painter Job Summary:
The Painter is responsible for refinishing damaged vehicle body parts and entire vehicle bodies in line with factory and dealership quality standards and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation & Safety:
Operate and use all body shop tools and equipment safely and correctly.
Surface Preparation:
Remove rust, grease, and dirt from surfaces to prepare for painting.
Masking & Protection:
Mask and protect areas of the vehicle not being painted or coated.
Filling & Smoothing:
Fill cavities and dents with putty to ensure a smooth surface for painting.
Paint Mixing:
Mix paint to specifications, ensuring accurate color matching.
Painting Application:
Apply paint using spray guns or brushes as required, achieving a smooth, even finish.
Quality Inspection:
Inspect painted surfaces for runs, sags, and unpainted areas to ensure high-quality results.
Wax Coating:
Heat and spray wax onto products post-testing to ensure durability.
Tool Maintenance:
Maintain tools and keep equipment clean and in proper working condition.
Work Area Maintenance:
