Job Description
Apply paints and various coatings to all types of surfaces.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Improves and maintains the overall interior appearance by painting and redecorating walls, woodwork and fixtures. Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications
- Prepares surfaces for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes and interstices, applies paint with a spray gun or brush
- May mix colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency
- In general, the work of the maintenance painter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience
- Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of the work areas including the workshop
- Assists others as part of the maintenance team to perform other duties assigned according to personal qualifications.
