Sparrow Company partnering with Labrie is looking for a Commercial Truck Paint Technician . This position is ideal for individuals with experience in industrial spray painting, particularly in the commercial vehicle manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying high-quality coatings to commercial trash trucks and other large vehicle components, ensuring a flawless finish that meets our stringent standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly prepare vehicle parts and components by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and a smooth base for painting.
- Choose the appropriate paints, primers, and coatings based on project specifications, and apply them with precision using airless spray equipment, ensuring a uniform, high-quality finish free of imperfections.
- Employ precision measuring tools to ensure accurate application and consistent coverage, meeting industry standards for both aesthetics and durability.
- Assist in the assembly and fabrication of parts as needed, ensuring that each component is properly prepared for the painting process.
- Utilize a variety of power and hand tools to support painting tasks, maintaining high efficiency and craftsmanship throughout.
- Follow lean manufacturing practices to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and optimize production timelines without compromising quality.
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines, consistently wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all relevant safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform touch-ups and minor repairs as needed to ensure the painted surfaces meet or exceed quality standards, including correcting any imperfections such as drips or streaks.
- Inspect completed work to verify that it meets both internal and external quality standards and customer specifications, making any necessary adjustments before final approval.
- Maintain and clean painting equipment, such as spray guns and airless sprayers, to ensure they are in optimal working condition, reducing downtime and ensuring consistently high-quality results.
- Assist with the safe loading and unloading of vehicle parts and components using hoists and lift trucks, ensuring the safe handling of materials throughout the process.
- Contribute to various other tasks within the manufacturing environment as needed, ensuring smooth operations and the successful completion of projects.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in commercial or industrial truck painting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency in using airless spray equipment, spray guns, and other industrial painting tools. Familiarity with advanced paint applications and finishes is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to achieving a flawless, even paint finish that meets the highest standards of quality.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments to ensure the accurate and consistent application of coatings.
- Ability to lift heavy parts and work in varying physical conditions, including working at different heights and in confined spaces.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE and understanding of environmental and safety regulations related to industrial painting.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, in-person position. The role may require performing other duties as assigned to support the team and organization’s needs. Overtime may be required as part of the role to meet project deadlines.

Preferred Experience:
Experience working with commercial trash trucks or large vehicles is highly preferred. Familiarity with Graco “P” mix paint and other specialized coatings is a plus. Certification or experience in forklift operation, hoist systems, or other industrial equipment. Previous exposure to lean manufacturing environments or knowledge of continuous improvement processes.

This position is focused on industrial/commercial vehicle painting in a manufacturing environment. House painters or those without experience in industrial applications will not be considered .
