Job Description
Painter/Blaster Chipton-Ross Goose Creek, SC 29445 Chipton-Ross is seeking experienced Paint & Insulation Technicians to support operations at a new, advanced shipbuilding facility in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Join a dynamic project team in a fast-paced environment contributing to the next generation of naval and commercial vessels.
Responsibilities:
Prepare metal surfaces for painting and coating through cleaning, sanding, and masking Apply primers, paints, coatings, and other protective materials using spray, brush, and roller techniques Cut, shape, and install thermal and acoustic insulation materials Ensure proper installation and adhesion of insulation using adhesives, fasteners, and wraps Follow detailed specifications and blueprints Inspect surfaces and insulation installations for quality assurance Maintain tools and equipment in clean and functional condition Follow all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE and ventilation systems
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial painting and/or insulation in shipbuilding, construction, or manufacturing environments Familiarity with marine coatings and insulation standards Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions Skilled with application equipment and insulation tools High school diploma or GED required Must pass background check and drug screening U.S. Citizenship may be required for certain project clearances
Preferred:
NACE or SSPC certification is a plus Experience with spray booths, scaffolding, and confined space work Previous work in new construction shipyard facilities
