Industrial Spray Painter 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Hardeeville, SC 29927 Overview The Industrial Spray Painter will prepare and paint a wide variety of fabricated steel products, ensuring a quality finish and adhering to safety protocols. They may also be responsible for maintaining equipment and inventory within the paint shop.

Key Responsibilities:

Surface Preparation:

• Cleaning, grinding, sanding, and masking surfaces to be painted.
• Removing rust, old paint, or other contaminants.

Painting and Coating Application:

• Using spray guns (HVLP, conventional, airless) to apply a smooth coat of primer and possibly, and other coatings.
• Ensuring even and consistent coverage, avoiding drips and runs.

Quality Control and Inspection:

• Checking for defects, thin spots, or other issues before, during, and after painting.
• Monitoring drying and curing times, making adjustments as needed.
• Ensuring primer or paint thickness and coverage meet specifications.

Equipment Maintenance and Safety:

• Cleaning and maintaining spray guns, nozzles, and other painting equipment.
• Following all safety procedures, including wearing appropriate protective gear (masks, goggles, gloves).

Other Tasks:

• Operating ovens for curing coats or other finishes.
• Communicating with supervisors and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to the required standard.

Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with using various spray guns and other painting techniques and equipment.
• Knowledge of different types of paints, coatings, and their applications.
• Ability to mix and adjust paint colors and viscosities.
