Automation Controls Senior Technician

Main St, Boaz, AL 35957 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Manufacturing Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with the management team and implement project plans per schedule. Develop and carry out business plan objectives set forth by the management team. Lead and support equipment installation, building and infrastructure as required. Implementation of Kaizen activities and reporting results of tasks to section management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing techniques, excellent problem-solving skills, major project management experience and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience. This position has no supervisory responsibilities and reports to a Chief Engineer. Duties Possesses basic knowledge of systems and controls. Basic understanding of control programming and graphics for control systems. Electrical terminations, commissioning, graphics, programming, test and startup. Uses a variety of hand tools and test equipment. Manages and services multiple projects. Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communication with staff, as needed, and providing customer feedback. Some travel within territory, including overnight stays. Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required by project timelines. Must be able to work in manufacturing areas with exposure to high noise levels, welding fumes, and moving mechanical parts. Coordinate with electrical subcontractors onsite, plus be partnered with a project manager and/or project engineer. Skills High school diploma, plus either 2-year technical degree or military service. Strong troubleshooting skills. Basic knowledge of equipment controls and robotics; assembly and/or weld manufacturing. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, programming and engineering drawing tools. Familiarity with the concepts of new construction, renovation/retrofit, and service projects. Knowledgeable of contracting processes and sub-contractor relations CAD experience preferred. Above average computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft products. Good oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of associates.
