Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree in Engineering Technology preferred.
Experience:
Up to 5 years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance or related coursework is required.
Job Summary:
As an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, you will play a vital role in our operations by delivering technical services for a range of electrical and instrumentation assignments. You will utilize both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to troubleshoot and maintain essential equipment, all while working under direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely and professionally removing, installing, cleaning, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various electrical and instrumentation equipment, including transmitters, transducers, meters, relays, switches, and control systems. Diagnosing and resolving electrical and instrumentation issues, working on equipment such as switchgears, control panels, control valves, transformers, motor starters, and UPS systems. Operating industrial equipment, including forklifts and man lifts, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Maintaining pneumatic and motor-operated valves and actuators. Reading and interpreting electrical, pneumatic, piping, and instrumentation diagrams to enhance workflow and efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of plant equipment, particularly transmitters and control valves. Familiarity with motor controls and lighting circuits. Working knowledge of voltages up to 600V. An understanding of environmental regulations to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Awareness of electrical arc flash and shock hazards (NFPA 70E) with the ability to select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods. Capable of lifting and carrying loads over 25 lbs. Proficient in using hands and arms for handling, installing, and positioning materials and equipment. Comfortable climbing ladders and performing tasks at elevated heights while utilizing safety harnesses. Able to navigate multiple flights of stairs while carrying equipment. Willingness to work outdoors or in process units in varying weather conditions. Ability to work in confined spaces for extended durations while wearing necessary personal protective equipment.
