Controls Program Technician 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars 1 Jeff Fuqua Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32827 JSM Airport Services, LLC (a subsidiary of JSM & Associates, LLC) is seeking qualified individuals to join our team in Orlando! The Controls Program Technician/Electronics Specialist role is to ensure control systems operate efficiently utilizing the expanses of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming. This is a hands-on position tasked with maintaining and enhancing the controls for, and operations of, the Baggage Handling System (BHS) at Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance on PLC systems. Program or perform repairs on PLC systems. Perform preventative maintenance or repairs on more advanced BHS equipment as needed. Perform a breakdown analysis. Oversee or perform general housekeeping. Upgrade lines with new/upgraded equipment/technology. Assist activities of outside contractors working on assigned lines. Enforce safety. Work independently under limited supervision. Develop PLC basics training for mechanics working on the BHS and assist in implementing the training program. Review control documentation and installation plans. Safety and compliance training as required. Perform other reasonable ancillary duties to support the operation and our customer.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or General Educational Development (GED). Bachelor’s Degree preferred.•Job experience, professional development and continuing education may be substituted for educational experience Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals, including executives, managers, developers, and subject matter experts. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write reports and business correspondence. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Possess the versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work with constantly changing priorities. Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams. 3(+) years of experience in Controls preferred Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to undergo a 10-year background check and be able to obtain/maintain security clearance. Must possess a valid driver’s license (with a clean driving record)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to sit, stand, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, or crawl occasionally. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts Occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions This full-time, non-exempt position will be located on-site at the Orlando International Airport. Our team works various schedules, as this is a 24-hour/day, 7-day/week operation. The workweek will be a schedule of 40 hours in total, with the shifts scheduled for either Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday. Each day (except for Wednesday) will have a schedule of either 3:40 am to 4:00 pm or 3:40 pm to 4:00 am, plus a 1-hour lunch break. Wednesday is a 6-hour shift (with staggered schedules to accommodate a 24-hour period), plus a 30-minute lunch break. Shift assignments are determined based on the requirements of the airport and the company, together with a technician’s strengths, skill set, and experience. Our mechanics/technicians are expected to be flexible with regard to potential changes in shift assignments. All shift assignments will include working on holidays that fall on scheduled workdays. The successful candidate must be able to pass a drug screening, a driver’s license check and validation, federal fingerprinting, and a security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging.
