MaintenanceManager Position Summary The Controls Technician III is responsiblefor maintaining and improving electrical and control systems withina manufacturing facility. This includes servicing mechanical,pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic systems essential forproduction. The role involves training fellow technicians,troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating closely with themaintenance leadership to ensure production continuity andcompliance with safety and quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and packagingmachinery in a high-speed manufacturing environment. Performdiagnostics and repairs on equipment involving PLCs, VFDs, servos,and electrical control systems. Provide guidance and technicaltraining to maintenance staff across multiple shifts. Coordinateand perform scheduled preventative maintenance and correctiverepairs. Maintain accurate logs and records of work performed andissues identified. Assist with installation and startup of newequipment and automated systems. Interpret and update technicaldocumentation including electrical schematics and system diagrams.
Support compliance with safety, food quality, and regulatorypolicies. Respond promptly to equipment failures and minimizeproduction downtime. Use software tools to manage work orders andupdate maintenance procedures. Safely perform inspections andrepairs during production runs and equipment downtime. Operate andmaintain utilities and secondary support systems such as HVAC,compressed air, and water systems. Contribute to continuousimprovement initiatives in maintenance operations. RequiredQualifications Formal education or training in electrical orelectronic engineering technology. Proficient with control systemsand programming software (e.g., RSLogix, FactoryTalk View). Strongtroubleshooting skills with both electrical and mechanicalequipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings andmanuals. Skilled in handling power systems ranging from 120V to480V. Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo motorsystems. Competent in preventive and predictive maintenancepractices. Familiar with safety protocols, lockout/tagoutprocedures, and PPE usage. Preferred Qualifications Technicalknowledge of mechanical or plumbing systems. Prior experienceworking in a food, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturingenvironment. Physical & Environmental Conditions Must be able tostand, walk, climb, and work at heights for extended periods.
Occasionally required to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and potentially wetor dusty conditions. Work performed near moving machinery and underproduction time constraints.
