Electrical Controls Engineering Technician AEC Engineering 172 Lower Main Street, Freeport, ME 04032 We are re-opening our search for an experienced Electrical Controls Engineering Technician with specific experience in the fabrication and maintenance of industrial control panels and electromechanical systems. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and reliable, with a strong technical background and a passion for quality and craftsmanship. AEC Engineering is a small, growing company that designs industrial controls and has been fabricating industrial control panels for over 40 years. As a custom “design/build” company, our customers come from a wide variety of industries including aquaculture, bio-tech, food & beverage, manufacturing, and water treatment. We also provide controls software engineering & automation design services, and perform service & support activities for our customers’ automation and integration needs. AEC Engineering would like to add an experienced, self-motivated, detail oriented and reliable person to our team in the role of Electrical Controls Engineering Technician. This position is full time 40 hours per week. Start/stop times can be flexible and will be discussed upon hire. For example, some employee prefer working four 10 hour days, while others prefer working four 9 hour days and a short day Friday. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: Demonstrated experience in the fabrication and maintenance of industrial control panels and electromechanical systems. Strong understanding of industrial controls and automation. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will possess the following technical skills. Not all these technical skills are required, however the more skills you can demonstrate and the more experience you have in related roles, the more successful you will be in this position, and the higher your compensation. Experience with electrical controls, control panel assembly work, and/or related mechanical experience. Proficient at reading electrical diagrams and wiring schematics. Advanced understanding of Electrical Theory. Advanced understanding of Mechanical Theory. Ability to work independently, safely, and accurately with a focus on precision and quality. Ability to anticipate and identify issues with electrical drawings and equipment both mechanically and electrically. Basic knowledge of PLC and HMI functions and programming. Effective communication skills with customers and co-workers. Experience working safely in a production environment. Experience scheduling and prioritizing, and working with deadlines. Comfortable working at customer job sites, as needed. Compensation will be determined by the candidates ability to meet – or exceed – the requirements of the position.
