Position:
R D Technician / Machine Technician The R D Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery across multiple production departments. This individual will play a vital role in supporting the functionality and development of new and existing systems in embroidery, engraving, wood, metal, sublimation, UV printing, and DTG printing departments. The role may also include assisting in prototyping and design using tools such as Fusion 360 and 3D printing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots a variety of machines used in production processes. Performs routine and preventative maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime. Assists in testing, setup, and evaluation of new machines or production tools. Supports research and development efforts by assisting with prototype fabrication, mold making, and testing. Utilizes Fusion 360 to create 3D printable designs for molds, jigs, or fixtures. Documents maintenance procedures and machine issues and communicates findings to supervisors or engineers. Works collaboratively with team members to improve workflows, production methods, and machine reliability. Adheres to all safety standards and keeps work areas clean and organized. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and minor electrical issues. Hands-on experience with a variety of production equipment. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Experience with 3D modeling software, especially Fusion 360, is a strong plus. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate’s degree in a related field preferred. 1-3 years of experience in a technician, machinist, or maintenance-related role. Prior experience in a manufacturing, R D, or fulfillment setting is desirable.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in a production environment with various machinery.
