STEAM Instructor for Summer 2025 MakerState – 4.0 Brooklyn, NY Job Details Part-time $25 – $35 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications CAD Writing skills Scratch English Research Mid-level Math Lesson planning Teaching Editing HTML Full Job Description Looking for enthusiastic, experienced, and responsible instructors in hands-on building, robotics, and computer science projects for elementary ang high school students in Brooklyn for our Summer 2025 : Classes will likely be held every Friday, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, from July 2 to August 15, 2025.

Three Primary Responsibilities of Job:

Instructor for students ages 6-14 leading hands-on projects in material engineering, robotics, Minecraft, Scratch coding etc. ($25-$35/hour based on expertise/experience) Research/Create project lessons for materials engineering and computer science projects and record videos that explain how to build each project ($16/hour)

Optional:

Event and holiday camps; events, holiday camps generally run all day, 9:00am-4:00pm, and are additional hours of service that you may be considered for instructional placement ($16-$20/hour) Qualifications Experience managing and teaching children ages 5-14 Expertise/passion in a

STEM/STEAM

(science, technology, engineering, arts, math) field Knowledge in one or more forms of technology including graphic design, movie making and editing, coding, CAD, HTML, etc. Experience in crafting, designing, building, hacking, and making in general Experience in writing lesson plans is a plus English language proficiency required Ability to maintain consistent and professional communications and record-keeping via phone, email, and Google Drive Ability to communicate professionally with the AfterSchool Director and parents Ability to travel throughout NYC for work and be on time every day Ability to commit to the entire semester of work Improvise and supplement additional projects/curriculum as necessary Instructors with NYSED licensure on any grade level and a passion for makerspace and digital arts/media are preferred but not necessary
