PT Instructor, Carpentry Apprenticeship ABC Keystone Chapter Manheim, PA 17545

Overview:

The part-time Carpentry Instructor provides classroom and hands-on instruction to registered apprentices in Manheim training facility.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. Assist the Director of Carpentry with curriculum review, designing lesson plans, developing a class schedule, and providing classroom and lab instruction to registered apprentices. 2. Teach students concrete and concrete forming. 3. Adhere to Keystone Apprenticeship and Training Trust approved standards 4. Schedule, plan, and implement classes to ensure appropriate time and materials 5. Appropriately utilize required PPE and lead by example in trade safety 6. Procure materials and outside resources within budget and with approval from Director of Apprenticeship 7. Work with team of instructors for group lab activities 8. Assist with the provision of classroom and lab instruction to pre-apprentices 9. Be present at and support apprentices in local craft competition, mock craft competition, and national craft competition Position Requirements High school/trade school graduate or equivalent training, with minimum of five years’ experience in a trade. Journeyperson equivalent. Knowledge of and experience in concrete and concrete forming. Working knowledge and skill in up-to-date commercial/industrial trade principles, methods, and techniques. Ability to instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate student work in a commercial trade environment. Strong organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills (speaking and listening). Ability to perform math computations needed in the trades. English language skills (reading and writing). First Aid & CPR certified. OSHA 10-Hour Construction certified.
