Job Description

Hand Solder Operator – 2nd shift (J-STD certification) Summary Responsible for assembling and hand soldering electronic components on a variety of circuit board assemblies encompassing Pin Thru-hole and Surface Mount Technologies in our lean manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow assembly procedures and process documentation.
Verify integrity of material to be assembled.
Assemble and/or solder electronic components in specific printed circuit board locations, following procedure and/or visual aide instruction.
Inspect circuit board assembly parts to determine soldering requirements.
Pre-form component leads per process documentation.
Identify and report defective components.
Responsible for the accuracy of work-in process associated with work cell.
Responsible for the cleanliness of work area and surrounding work space.
Understand and follow all applicable ISO and job specific procedures.
Maintain ESD integrity within production environment.
May train other employees.
Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent education.
Certification in Hand Soldering (J-STD-001).
IPC 610 certification preferred.
2+ years’ experience with hand soldering PCB assemblies preferred.
Must successfully pass soldering skills test.
Knowledge of component identification and component nomenclature.
Electronic component assembly skills.
Ability to read assembly procedures, interpret visual aids and follow process documentation in English.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work and communicate effectively in a multi-tasking, highly dynamic work environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Willing to work flexible hours or overtime as necessary.
US Person as defined in 22 CRF Part 120.15 (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees and those given asylum in the United States, and temporary residents granted amnesty) since work includes ITAR controlled technical data.
