Full Job Description Overview:
We are looking for motivated individuals to join our high-tech manufacturing team operating precision equipment for electronic circuit board production. Whether you’re mechanically inclined and looking to break into the industry or you’re an experienced operator ready to take on more responsibility, we have a structured training program and clear advancement pathway waiting for you. This is a hands-on, fast-paced position in an advanced manufacturing environment. You’ll operate, maintain, and program both automated and semi-automated equipment used in assembling high-reliability printed circuit boards. Positions range from entry-level trainees to highly skilled technicians. Responsibilities by
Position Level:
Machine Operator Trainee:
Work under close supervision to learn setup and operation of machinery. Assist with material handling and component loading. Follow basic written instructions and safety procedures. Participate in structured on-the-job training programs. Mechanical aptitude and general software familiarity required.
Machine Operator I:
Operate automated equipment including screen printers, placement machines, reflow ovens, and loaders. Load programs and respond to simple equipment errors. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines. Understand and follow manufacturing process instructions (MPIs).
Machine Operator II:
Modify programs to adjust component placements and correct orientation issues. Create screen printer programs and troubleshoot paste height/coverage. Perform intermediate-level maintenance and resolve common mechanical issues. Assist in prototype setups and validate basic production changes.
Machine Operator III:
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and advanced troubleshooting. Interpret complex error messages and resolve system communication issues. Provide hands-on support for new product introductions and complex assemblies. Work closely with engineering and QA teams to ensure process stability.
Machine Operator IV:
Expert-level troubleshooting of machinery, software, and production defects. Modify component library files, tray assignments, and placement logic. Fully autonomous role with ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Resolve inspection and quality issues related to component placement and soldering.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Mechanical/electrical experience in a production or manufacturing setting preferred. Completion of structured training modules required for advancement to each level. Must be comfortable standing 8-12 hours per shift and lifting up to 30 lbs regularly. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity essential. Familiarity with electronics, blueprints, or bills of materials is a plus. Computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Word, and ability to learn internal software systems.
Additional Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to work overtime when needed. Strong work ethic and ability to follow detailed procedures. Willingness to wear PPE and adhere to safety and cleanliness protocols. Candidates must pass visual acuity testing and be comfortable handling small components.
