Description:
Wiring Technicians are responsible for assembling cable kits andwire harnesses according to drawings and guidelines to ensureproduct specifications and quality standards are met. They willinspect and adjust completed units to ensure that units meetspecifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
Tasks:
Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, specifications,work orders, bills of materials, or reports to determine materialsrequirements or assembly instructions Assemble parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units toassemblies, sub-assemblies, or frames, using hand tools and powertools Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuringinstruments such as calipers Align, fit, or assemble component parts, using hand or power tools,fixtures, templates, or microscopes Inspect parts for surface defects Verify part dimensions or clearances to ensure conformance tospecifications Clean up working areas and inventory tools
Requirements:
HS diploma or equivalent Direct assembly experience reading and interpreting wirediagrams Ability to physically lift 35 pounds Ability to communicate effectively in English (read, speak,write) Ability to collaborate successfully in a team-orientedenvironment Ability to learn and process information quickly and execute taskssuccessfully Ability to work safely and to operate power tools and equipment ina safe manner
Preferences:
Experience in assembly and particularly in building wire harnessesand cable kits
