The Panel Technician Trainee selects and prepares panel back plates and enclosures with assembly of components in preparation for panel wiring. Will cross-train as Panel Technician I to assemble enclosures, protection, communication, and control devices, such as switches, relays, transformers, transmitters, and switchboards for low complexity or repeat panels (as defined by Kele standards).
Key Responsibilities:
Prepares panel enclosures for panel build process; Prewires panel when appropriate; Cuts, strips, and mounts wire to connect electrical units; Installs basic electrical assemblies and hardware in housing; Plans, constructs, and assembles test panels for experimental and production testing; Assembles basic wires, insulation, and electrical components, such as transformers and relays, following method layouts; Assembles and tests control devices, switch panels, transformers and other electrical equipment and components; Reviews project instructions and blueprints to ascertain specifications; Keeps work area clean and in 5S condition.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Ability to learn and use company software, including Microsoft Office, Auto CAD, Visio, and scheduling software; Ability to work in a safe manner while ensuring accuracy in all transactions and to meet and maintain the position’s production requirements.
