Job Description:
The role involves disassembling, cleaning, repairing, and reassembling components per technical drawings and guidelines. Technicians will inspect and adjust completed motors to meet quality and customer specifications. Full training and development provided.
Responsibilities:
Mount gearbox housing and couplings on the build stand. Assemble gears, bearings, and housings. Use precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.) for accurate measurements. Install spacers, covers, fasteners, and hardware. Demount gearboxes post-assembly. Conduct inspections and tests on units to ensure accuracy and conformance. Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams. Clean parts/work area using air hoses and cleaning solutions. Use hand/power tools for drilling, tapping, fitting, and alignment. Participate in safety walks, 6S audits, and process improvement teams.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong mechanical assembly experience, especially with electromechanical components. Excellent reading comprehension of schematics and blueprints. Basic computer literacy. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and safety protocols. Proficiency in using measuring tools and interpreting specifications.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of direct assembly experience. Must be able to lift 35 lbs. Strong wiring and schematic reading experience. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Must pass a technical skills assessment.
Preferences:
Prior experience in locomotive gear assembly. Extensive electromechanical background Ability to troubleshoot and work independently #IND1
