We are seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our talent pool at Volvo Construction Equipment in Shippensburg, PA. While we may not always have immediate openings, exciting opportunities are on the horizon and we want you to be first in line! In this role, you will be instrumental in assembling high-quality mechanical components that contribute to our industry-leading products. Your expertise will help us maintain our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Assemble different types and sizes of construction equipment, including full machines and mechanical components according to specifications and blueprints. Help identify and fix mechanical, hydraulic, ignition, or control system issues Receive direction from the manager and team leader on proper use of blueprints, instructions, and materials lists to plan your work and make sure everything meets the required specifications Interpret schematics to verify material requirements and plan efficient sequence of operations. Fit, adjust, and align components, such as gears, shafts, keys, and bearings; assemble complete machines or sub-assembly as zones are assigned Conduct running and performance tests. After running tests, diagnose malfunctions, dismantle, clean, and inspect for damage or distortion. Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified Detect and report faulty operation, defective material, questionable drawing requirements, and unusual conditions to the proper authority. Maintain working area in neat and orderly conditions as set by 5s standards Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety protocols. Follow policies and procedures; support the organization’s goals Pay close attention to detail, seek ways to improve and promote work quality, accept feedback, and regularly check your own work for accuracy.
