Job Summary:

The Engineering Technician is responsible for assisting theDesign and Manufacturing Engineers in the implementation of design andengineering activities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Hands-on prototypingand testing of designed parts and accessories
• Welding and metalfabrication of prototypes
• Troubleshoot fitment issues and makerecommendations for adjustments.
• Operate 3D printing and laser cuttingmachines
• Operate and run parts in the house machine shop
• Create andupdate SOP’s for documentation of assembly and repair procedures
• 3Dmodeling of basic components
• Adhere to and carry out existing workpractices, procedures and policies
• Maintain confidentiality andobserve data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate
• Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies
• Otherduties as assigned

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Design new products andredesign existing parts for vehicles
• Assist with SolidWorks drawingsand bill of materials
• Fine tune all new and existing parts forproduction
• Create solid modeling/prototypes of design projects
• Undertake relevant training and development as required
• Carry out workorders within a realistic timeline ensuring that deadlines are met
• Exercise discretion and individual judgement with respect to Companymatters

INTERACTION WITH

• Various levels of internal staff within avariety of departments.
• Some customer interaction

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 2 years’ hands on manufacturing experience

EDUCATION

• Highschool diploma or GED equivalent
• College education or Trade schoolpreferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Welding and metal fabricationexperience
• Knowledge of 3D printing and laser cutting machines aplus
• Operating of Manual and CNC machining equipment a plus
• SolidWorks and CAD software skills and experience
• Critical thinkingand problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeSuite

• Must be able to climb into, onto and under vehicle
• Vision aminimum 20/40 with or without corrective lenses
• Good hearing
