We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cutting Die Maker. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-speed, high-pressure production team that plays a critical role in delivering top-quality products to our customers. We will provide training to help you succeed.
What You’ll Do:
Cutting, bending, and notching steel rule based on the manner-in which the die is laid out Applying (pounding in) steel rule/knife to the die board Read and comprehend customer specs Process rule using auto-bending equipment Understand rubbering requirements Perform revisions and repairs Documenting all project activity on job card and work order Submitting materials request to materials issuer and/or automated rule processor for materials Inspecting materials issued to check for heights and correct rule material based on customer specs Identify non-conforming products during inspection activities. Report non-conforming products to the department supervisor Troubleshooting potential production problems and following up with supervisors for answers Troubleshooting and resolving any quality issues Training new employees
What We’re Looking For:
High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Entry-level experience in the Die Making/Die Cutting Industry Ability to read tape measure to 1/32″ Physical Requirements Ability to stand on concrete (rubber flooring) during entire shift Frequent walking when moving dies from one area to another Lifting dies weighing up to 65 pounds. (+65 with assistance) Often bending and stooping to get supplies and materials Frequent turning back and forth from benders to cutting die Repetitive Motion – Hand Tooling Constant Repetitive Motion – Pounding using mallet Must be able to see well to align scribe marks and read customer specs Must be able to hear to listen to instructions Ability to differentiate between colors
