Experienced Dry Cleaner Azalea Cleaners, Inc. 732 Azalea Dr, Shreveport, LA 71106 A dry clean machine operator is responsible for operating specialized cleaning machinery at a dry cleaning facility, which includes loading garments into the machines, selecting appropriate cleaning cycles based on fabric type, removing stains with specialized chemicals, and ensuring proper drying and finishing of cleaned items, while also maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the equipment; essentially, they oversee the entire dry cleaning process using industrial machines, requiring knowledge of different fabrics and cleaning methods to handle delicate items with care.
Key responsibilities may include:
Receiving and sorting garments: Inspecting incoming clothes for stains, identifying fabric types, and sorting them according to cleaning requirements.
Spot treatment:
Applying specialized stain removal solutions to targeted areas on garments before cleaning.
Operating dry cleaning machines:
Loading garments into the appropriate dry cleaning machine, setting cleaning cycles based on fabric type, and monitoring the cleaning process.
Extraction and drying:
Removing cleaned garments from the machine, transferring them to dryers, and selecting appropriate drying settings.
Pressing and finishing:
Utilizing steam presses or hand irons to remove wrinkles and achieve a professional finish on garments.
Machine maintenance:
Cleaning and lubricating cleaning equipment, checking for malfunctions, and reporting any maintenance issues.
Chemical handling:
Properly storing and using cleaning solvents and chemicals according to safety regulations.
