Job Description

Metal Technician Ironware International 2421 Cruzen Street, Nashville, TN 37211 If you are an artistic person that loves injecting your skill and passion into pieces that will be seen all over the world please submit your resume! Ironware International, Inc. is seeking an artisan for our Metalworking Shop. We manufacture hand-forged lighting and furniture sold primarily through the interior design trade. This is an artisanal luxury product that requires an eye for detail and high-quality craftsmanship. Training for this position is available for the right candidate. Part time or Full Time M-F 7:00 am

What You Will Do:

Work on multiple projects at the same time. Use welding equipment, torches, hand tools and power tools, etc. to cut, join, shape and form custom metal components for product assembly. Assemble various components into finish-ready metal sculptures. Complete metal-working repairs throughout the production process. Use paint booth equipment for cleaning, priming, and applying chemical/ patina finishes to metal sculptures. Maintain shop tools and equipment in good working order. Operate Forklift. Build wooded crates for product shipments. Lend a helping hand with other production and warehouse related activities such as organizing, moving, loading/unloading products, materials, and warehouse inventory items as needed. Essential job skills & criteria: Ability to work independently when needed without direct supervision. Ability to read work orders and complete production paperwork and digital time-keeping entries accurately/legibly. Ability to read and understand blueprints and other digital and/or hand-drawn diagrams. Ability to accurately read and use measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, etc. Ability to stand OR sit for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to climb a staircase ladder. Manual (finger/hand) dexterity. Eyesight that permits finely detailed work. Ironware International uses solvents and paints in the shop and studio areas. Applicant should not have any breathing/contact/ hypersensitivity issues or difficulties being in an environment when these chemicals and/or paints are used. (

Note:

All OSHA requirements are met in providing masks, gloves, chemical protection, and ventilation for studio employees.) Electrical Experience a plus. Carpentry and/or Painting experience a plus.
