Requirements:

Area of Responsibilities Assists in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables for menu items and putting together entrées. Thaws foods using the proper method (in the cooler for safety), for the proper length of time until completely thawed. Maintains clean work area and follows proper food handing and sanitation procedures as per local and federal regulation. Considers safety in all aspects of the job. Responsible for proper utilization of food and equipment to minimize waste and loss to the department. Review production sheets, planning charts, and recipe books. Follows recipes appropriately. Able to scale standardized recipes accurately to meet set production goals. When foods are not available for preparation according to production sheets, will be capable of substituting an item of equal nutritional value for patients and retail. Adheres to job conduct, dress, attendance and in-service requirements. Performs other duties as related and assigned by the supervisors or management. Procures food from refrigerators, freezers and other storage areas. Inspects food stuffs. Uses proper procedures for receiving and storing (FIFO). Returns damaged items that do not meet specifications. Compliance Statement Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System’s Ethics and Compliance program.
