Food Manufacturing Company is seeking a 2nd shift Quality Assurance Technician The primary job responsibilities of this position are described in detail by this document. The employee holding this position is expected to adhere to each of the following responsibilities on a daily basis. Responsibilities, however, are not limited to the information contained within this document. In particular, additional responsibilities will continually be assigned through specific work order instructions. Additional tasks will also be assigned by the Quality Manager and/or Quality Assurance Supervisor. All efforts will be made to keep this document up to date with current responsibilities. It is expected that the person occupying this position will notify their immediate supervisor anytime it is observed that changes or updates are required. It is the responsibility of the Quality Manager and Human Resources to instigate the actual changes to this document. Job Summary – Quality Assurance Technician The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for all assigned quality assurance related tasks as outlined herein. All Elevation Foods Quality Assurance departmental responsibilities must be fulfilled in a manner that places extreme emphasis on Elevation Foods food safety and food quality programs. Some of the vital responsibilities include: Perform pre-operational inspections of processing, packaging, and support areas to ensure compliance with Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s) ensuing that effective and appropriate corrections have been completed prior to releasing areas to operations. Monitor processing, packaging, and support areas to ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices’ (GMP’s) and Standard Operating Practices (SOP’s) are being followed by all personnel. Perform verification monitoring for the HACCP and HARPC programs, SSOP, metal detection, labeling, and allergen programs. Perform food safety and product quality checks as required. Observe employee practices as well as environmental conditions and recognize the need for input and/or corrective actions to prevent the contamination of food contact surfaces, ingredients, work-in-progress (WIP), and/or finished product. Responsible for swabbing equipment for cleanliness and/or the presence of allergens as well as documentation and communication of results. Perform various chemical analysis including but not limited to chemical titrations, pH, etc. Actively participate in sensory evaluation. Controls ingredients and/or finished goods on hold during scheduled work shift. Assist in sampling of ingredients, WIP, and finished goods as needed. Develop competency of the Elevation Foods Spork computer system. Collects and labels finished product samples for Quality Assurance sample retention program, R D sensory evaluation, and R D shelf-life analysis. Identify gaps in production and packaging processes; notify Quality Assurance management, Production management, and/or Packaging management; and assist in resolving any issues. Perform and document equipment calibrations and/or verifications Manage applicable Quality Assurance related documentation on the production and packaging floor during scheduled work shift. Issue Hold Tags and assist in maintaining the Hold Log. Communicates appropriately and effectively with all applicable Elevation Foods personnel. Acquires a working knowledge of all Elevation Foods finished products in order to successfully accomplish all applicable in-place checks and controls during a scheduled work shift. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with regulatory inspectors as well as third party providers. Assists Production shift supervisors and applicable personnel to mitigate food safety and/or quality issues with ingredients, WIP, and finished product quality related issues to maintain finished product safety and consistency. Collect and review production documentation for accuracy and compliance to specifications. May include data entry and scanning of pertinent paperwork. Maintain rotation of Quality Assurance retention samples as well as sampling devices such as allergen and ATP swabs. Maintain accurate documentation regarding the events and/or critical details of your shift in order to maintain awareness throughout the Quality Assurance department. Assist with other Quality Assurance team duties. Completion of all other duties as requested Physical Requirements – Quality Assurance Technician The employee filling this position may sit, stand and/or walk for long periods of time. The employee filling this position may need to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee filling this position may be exposed to water, odors, wet floors, chemicals and machinery noise. The employee in this position may be exposed to uncomfortably warm and in some cases cold conditions. The employee in this position may need to bend or stoop. The employee in this position may experience high levels of stress.
